Whats that 除了問「那個東西是什麼」之外，也用在「聽不清楚別人的話而要求對方再說一遍」時。
due有幾個常用的意思。
1. (adj.) 預訂好現在或即將要做某事 (due+for+名詞/due+to+動詞) (If someone is due for something, that thing is planned to happen or be given to them now, or very soon, often after they have been waiting for it for a long time.)
EX. He is not due for release until 2020. 預計他一直到2020年都不會被釋放。
EX. We are due to leave tomorrow. 我們預計明天離開。
2. (adj.) 預計會發生的 (If something is due at a particular time, it is expected to happen, be done, or arrive at that time.)
EX. The results are due at the end of the month. 結果預計在月底公佈。/ Mr. Carter is due in London on Monday. 卡特先生預計星期一到倫敦。
3. (adj.) (prep.) due to 由於 (If an event is due to something, it happens or exists as a direct result of that thing.)
EX. Our happy childhood is due to fathers hard work. 我們的幸福的童年歸功於父親辛勤的工作。
EX. The meeting was cancelled due to(= because of= as a result of) bad weather. 會議因為天氣不好而被取消了。
waste (v.) (n.) (adj.) 浪費
EX. Dont waste your time on it. 別浪費你的時間在這件事上。
EX. Doing such a job is a waste of his talent. 做這樣的工作是浪費他的天分。
EX. Where should I put the waste paper? 我該把這廢紙放哪?
What a waste !為感嘆句。
EX. What a smart girl!= How smart the girl is! 多聰明的女孩啊!
